Robber fly - Dioctria baumhaueri

Length 8 to 13 mm. This is a mainly black robber fly, but the front two pairs of legs are mainly orange apart from a dark stripe along the upper surface.

Machimus cingulatus

Size 10 to 13mm. A drab yellowish-brown fly. The femora are black on the anterior surface and orange of the posterior surface.
