Swollen-thighed Beetle - Oedemera nobilis

Length 8 to 10mm. The green elytra (wing covers) are pointed and gape apart. The male and female of this beetle can easily be told apart, as the male has large green bulges on its femora or thighs, while the female does not.

Oedemera Lurida

Length 5 to 8 mm. A generally long and slender species, which is a greyish sage green in colour. It often leaves its elytra (wing cases) agape. Active in bright sunshine in open habitats with plenty of wild flowers such as Hawthorn and umbellifers, where they feed on pollen and nectar.
